My journey to the lab began in the woods with a pair of binoculars. Fundamentally, I am interested in understanding how and why animals behave the way that they do. I approach this question from both a mechanistic perspective (how are processes in the brain and body related to behavior?) and from an evolutionary perspective (how is behavior shaped by natural and sexual selection?). In addition to being fascinated by social behavior, I have long-standing interests in sex and gender.

Before moving to Pennsylvania, I lived in many states (Michigan, Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, New York, Virginia, Indiana, Maine) and spent a few years living abroad (Australia, Spain). I am very happy to have settled in the Lehigh Valley! When I’m not on campus, chances are you’ll find me cooking, walking, or reading a newspaper.

I am majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Studio Art. I’m particularly interested in the cellular and molecular mechanisms behind behavior, and how behavior can be altered through pharmacological means. Beyond academia, I love to paint, fold origami, spend time with animals, and work as a mental health advocate on campus.
